The Studio
Welcome to my personal studio in Southwest Florida! In this creative space, I turn raw, wet clay sourced from South Carolina and Kentucky into one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by the ocean and its magnificent sea creatures, including turtles, dolphin, and manatee. Each piece is meticulously crafted, with careful consideration given to shape, glaze, texture, and size, allowing my creativity to shine. After a thorough air drying process, each creation is fired in the kiln to over 1800 degrees fahrenheit to prepare the clay for glazing. A unique glaze combination is then applied to each piece and returned to the kiln, this time to be fired to over 2200 degrees fahrenheit. Wow that's hot! After 8 1/2 hours of firing and a day to cool down, the results are breathtaking works of art that honor the beauty of the sea.
